Hi Romy, Hi Jeffrey Steve and I have been working on the bass compression driver for quite some time now, about 3 weeks ago we made some design changes that really paid off, as of now I'm convinced that a compression driver is...

Actually I think I was clueless until a second part of 90s, perhaps the late 90s. You know it is kind of strange: I did audio kind of all my life but I never knew, cared and was a part of the high-end hobby. All those valleys and summits of audiophil...

I've sort of "analyzed" your thinking (more like taking what you've said so far and continued with my own ideas) and come to the conclusion the most you could do in "your" (could be more like mine) type of way to try to improve yo...

Romy, I am not clear from re-reading how low you plan to go with a 4" to 5 " dynamic driver, like you mentioned a few posts back. I thought I read that you planned to go as low as 70 Hz with this channel, which confused me when ...

I really enjoyed reading an ignorant rant by someone who has probably neither heard the Continuum turntable, nor who is willing to say anything substantive about its design, yet he's more than happy to mock me and the people who designed and built th...

Foolishness is too soft a word to describe the unspeakable garbage the Magico Ultimate is. They have mis-matched impedance drivers, improperly sized horns for the drivers, and made everything from metal. Then they go on an attempt to brag that "We us...

This component seems to have some serendipity to its development so I would lean that way in answering Romy's question about brilliance or luck. The poor trouble shooting skills of the PP developers (both in fixing and in redesigns) is one bit o...

You point out that if a capacitor can hum it is faulty and wound improperly. You are absolutely correct - the way a capacitor is wound will determine if it can hum or not. Unfortunately almost all capacitors on the market are wound in a way that...

I learned The Trojans from its first stereo (and first complete too I recall) recording by Colin Davis. It was a rather cool affair, as studio recordings are wont to be, so I never realized how hot the music actually is until this year's Symphony Hal...

Yes, I did not realize that the price of £225 is for a PAIR; usually price is given per driver. I guess the £225 per pair is not and of the world but I still insist to pay 65 cents per 1 Euro as it use to do… In past I n...

I use S&B TX102s which have huge cores but my system does not allow examination of the subterranean levels.
I mention the magnetic solution only as an alternative to resistive attenuation. How it is implemented is another game of pinochle.

This week Romy was kind enough to invite me over for a few days for some Apprentice work and philosophizing. As I alluded above, my Apprenticeship contribution consisted principally of moving some audio gear, searching for some esoteric stuff hidden ...
